The usual pattern of the long-established demographic poise in Arab countries has been altered in present decades. One of the outcomes of the demographic change from high to low fertility and high to low death has been the development in the age makeup of population. In Arab countries, the declining fertility rates have resulted significant changes in the age pattern of the population.
These changes are displayed by a sharp boost in the proportion of the working-age people (aged 25-64), a turn down in the young age group (aged 0-14), and a slow although steady increase in the aged persons as cleared to be 65 and above in the Arab region.
